"At Passmores School and Technology College we aim to provide the most flexible school experience that we can. We also aim to provide all of our stakeholders with as much access to necessary information as possible. Our website is at the core of this strategy and therefore when we were looking to develop a new website our demands and expectations were high. We want our website to be able to be immediately updated by as full a range of staff and students as possible, without the need for contributors to be expert ICT professionals in the field of web design. This is something that the content manager from e4education is completely able to deliver. We want our website to be able to act as the host for our increasing use of e-learning with students to create a curriculum experience that allows for a twenty-four hour school. The flexibility of embedding and document uploading options from e4education allow this to happen. We also want to be able to show off our activities to the wider community through news articles, photo galleries and videos. The features of the site we designed with e4education allow us to do this with ease. We have linked to videos created by students which are hosted on Youtube, but embedded on our site. We have been able to immediately upload sets of photographs from school trips and events in school into the gallery section.
The process of design and creation for the various parts of the website was an almost completely pain free experience! The team from e4education worked closely with us to create an innovative website design during a morning’s consultation. The web designers then created various drafts and adjusted the designs in line with our requests until the final version was agreed. We took up the options for the professional photographer and video maker to visit the school. The outcomes of this work can clearly be seen on our website, and we think it adds a real flourish to our site. Whenever problems have arisen with small aspects of the site’s management, there has always been a range of e4education advisers on hand to help us out, and all problems have been dealt with efficiently.
